Talking about Barack Obama, we had really wanted the blog Mediation Animal, especially since a third of Americans are blog readers (thank you for your interest!), But how to introduce this topic with our personality! !
This weekend, the news gives us the opportunity to discuss the new U.S. president, in a lighter way of course! And even if some "pseudo-intellectuals" speak of the superficiality of this information to the views of what is happening in the world, we wanted to mention it! It may seem trivial to some but is actually very symbolic and brings to my mind several values!
I will not speak of the arrival of Barack Obama for the U.S. presidency ... But I just want to clarify that this man inspires real change and real hope door! Hope for the American people but also for the rest of the world because American politics undoubtedly influenced the world! This is a challenge; expectations are high ... then follow closely what is happening across the Atlantic!
The "First Dog" of the White House
At his first press conference post-election, Barack Obama recalled "a priority": finding a dog to his children before joining his new home; promise during the election campaign. An original measure? Not really. This concern is not new animal for American presidents. And Mr. Obama, though qu'incarnant change, is in the tradition of these!
As tradition dictates, therefore, the presidential family has adopted an adorable Portuguese Water Dog ! Recently, in an interview with ABC, Barack Obama had said that the search dog had been "more difficult than finding a commerce secretary", an allusion to the discontinuance of the Governor of New Mexico involved in a federal investigation for corruption. C 'Sunday is the prestigious U.S. newspaper, the "Washington Post" reveals with humor "case of the puppy."

At the age of 6 months, the dog is a gift from Senator Ted Kennedy , brother of JFK, the two daughters of U.S. President, Sasha and Malia. The couple's children were baptized Obama's pet Bo in honor of their maternal grandfather, nicknamed Diddley, in reference to singer Bo Diddley .
The couple had promised to choose the puppy in a shelter. According to the "Washington Post", the family will mend by making a contribution to the Humane Society of Washington.
Act which also shows the values and importance of the family for the new president: Barack Obama held a promise made to his children. The act emphasizes that man undoubtedly "the most powerful of the world" does not neglect his family.
A small problem though ...
The announcement and discovery of the breed of "First Dog" not American does not risk to skyrocket the popularity rating of these dogs? With a lot of breeders and owners malicious ill-prepared? Lovers of this breed, which have nothing against Obama, worried about the hype, which may explode the price of abandoning their pups but also in a few months!
Finally!
The importance of pets is impressive in the United States. The pet industry worth 10 billion dollars! There are 82 million cats and 72 million dogs! With its share of anthropomorphic attitudes that tend to grow also in France, "there is here psychiatrist for dogs, pet insurance, walkers, of course, imitated couture clothing, jewelry, fitness clubs, the radio program with dogs & cats. Yoga Teachers begin to specialize in animals. Can be seen passing in NY taxis for animals, sometimes the masters organize anniversaries or romantic encounters for their pets. The dogs have learned "dating" and follow the masters. To the left! "(Source Philippe ANTOINE - Blog Obama in America )
Pets hosts White House throughout history are a topic of great interest among Americans. Every president since Calvin Coolidge, elected in 1923, had at least one dog while in office.
The Kennedys had almost built a menagerie in the White House, between the pony, dogs and other animals. Of many websites evoke animals of Presidents. The site of the White House detail in pictures the different niches presidential tenants, this shows the importance and tradition.

Barack Obama represents change, but based on an American tradition dear to his countrymen. By this act, it also highlights the importance of family values!
And finally, I end with this sentence of Harry Truman , "If you need a friend in Washington, you better have a dog"

Hello,
Just a note to say that your comment exchange of those I've read on the site of release or other papers on the subject. I can only agree about the accuracy of recall and indeed the choice is really symbolic and far from insignificant.
